About

At Tamrakar, we create handmade silver jewellery shaped by tradition and made to be worn every day. Each piece is crafted with care, often set with natural gemstones and finished by hand in our Bristol workshop or by our family in Kathmandu.
Our story begins in Kathmandu, where Bijendra learned silversmithing at just 15 years old, working alongside his family. With a small loan of 500 rupees (around £5) from his uncle, he began refining his craft — laying the foundation for what would become Tamrakar.
The name “Tamrakar” means “shaper of copper” in Nepali, a name long associated with skilled metalworkers. For generations, our family has carried this tradition — not just as a trade, but as a way of life.
Today, that same spirit continues in every ring, pendant and pair of earrings we make.
