At Tamrakar, we specialise in creating exquisite handmade silver jewellery, often adorned with stunning gemstones. What sets us apart is the personal touch and craftsmanship that goes into every piece, with skills and techniques passed down through generations in the Tamrakar family.
Our journey began in the vibrant city of Kathmandu, where Bijendra, at just 15 years old, learned the craft of silversmithing from his family. With a modest 500 rupee loan (£5) from his uncle, he honed his skills, laying the foundation for what would become Tamrakar. The name itself holds deep significance. "Tamrakar" means "shaper of copper" in Nepalese. Many in our family have carried this proud tradition as silversmiths for generations.
In addition to our online presence, we have a shop and workshop in Bristol where we repair, sell and create our jewellery. Here visitors can see our process up close and find unique handcrafted pieces, or bring in their beloved items for expert repairs.
